Went to a jazz concert last night
Saskia laroo live with Jarek simetian and Steve Logan on bass
was very very good.....small bunch of people at the Radisson's Ball room
we were the only Indian's there, conspiciously brown against the stuffy whitey's in the crowd
there was this junglee american behind me, who chatted thru out left twice to smoke and was shushed as well!!! Then he comes into the ball room with a plate piled high with refreshments meant for after the concert
I was mortified!!
he ate some more after the concert!!!
there was this long buffet table with little canapes, mini sandwiches
and other delightful goodies, even mini desserts and loads of juice and coffee...
I ate 2 sandwiches and some shrimp concoction on a tiny heart shaped piece of toast...
ahhhhhhhhhh lovely

CARDS YOU WILL NEVER SEE IN HALLMARK: (Contributed by uncle Arun)

"I've always wanted to have someone to hold, someone to love. After having met you, I've changed my mind."

"I must admit, you brought religion into my life. I never believed in Hell till I met you."

"Looking back over the years that we've been together, I can't help but wonder: What the heck was I thinking?"

"As the days go by, I think of how lucky I am that you're not here to ruin it for me."

"If I get only one thing for Christmas, I hope it's your sister."

"As you grow older, Mum, I think of all the gifts you've given me. Like the need for therapy..."

"Thanks for being a part of my life!!! I never new what evil was before this!"

"Money is tight, times are hard, here's your @#$/& Christmas card!!!"

"Congratulations on your promotion. Before you go, I would like you to take this knife out of my back. You'll probably need it again."

"Someday I hope to get married, but not to you."

"Sorry things didn't work out, but I can't handle guys with breasts that are bigger than mine."

"I just want you to know that I'm sorry for what happened, especially since you survived."

"Happy Birthday! You look great for your age... Almost Lifelike!

"Congratulations on getting married! It's not every day you decide to ruin your life!"

"I always wanted to be rich, powerful, and well respected. While I'm dreaming, I wish you weren't so damn ugly."

"When we were together, you always said you'd die for me. Now that we've broken up, I think it's time you kept your promise."

"Just remember... Jesus Loves You - Everyone else thinks you're a creep!"

"The holidays are a great time to be with family. Of course, your family won't be with you, since I'm taking the kids and moving in with my sister, you cheating jerk!!"

"I knew the day would come when you would leave me for my best friend. So here's his leash, water bowl and chew toys."

"We have been friends for a very long time, let's say we call it quits."

"I'm so miserable without you, it's almost like you're here."

"If you ever need a friend, buy a dog." (heck...get four!)

"Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. Did you ever find out who the father was?"

"You are such a good friend that if we were on a sinking ship and there was only one life jacket.... I'd miss you heaps and think of you often."

"If you didn't have any money, I'd still love you. And miss you very much."

"Your friends and I wanted to do something special for your birthday --- so we're having you put to sleep."

"Happy Birthday, Uncle Dad!!" (available only in Arkansas)

There was an atheist couple who had a child. The couple never told their daughter anything about the Lord. One night when the little girl was 5 years old, the parents fought with each other and the Dad shot the Mom, right in front of the child. Then, the dad shot  himself! The little girl watched it all. She then was sent to a foster home. The foster mother was a Christian and took the child to church. On the first day of Sunday School, the foster mother told the teacher that the girl had never heard of Jesus, and to have patience with her. The teacher held up a picture of Jesus and said, "Does anyone know who this is?" The little girl said, "I do, that's the man who was holding me the night my parents died."

If you believe this little girl is telling the truth that even though she had never heard of Jesus, he still held her the night her parents died, then you will forward this to as many people as you can.

Or you can delete it as if it never touched your heart.

Funny, isn't it?

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. (Or is it scary?)

Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week. (Are you laughing?)

Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. (Are you thinking?)

Dale's Take on it

If you believe this little girl is telling the truth that even though she had never heard of Jesus, he still held her the night her parents died, then you will forward this to as many people as you can.
-the story sounds made up...i tend not to believe random emails that get passed around...not the most authoritative source.  Jesus will still love you if you forward this or not.

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
-the world is going to hell because people act on their baser animal instincts without critical thought, not because people trash God.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.
-whether it is the newspaper or the bible, you should take what you read with a grain of salt...apply conscious logic and reason to distinguish between truth and fiction, and whatever you believe, allow yourself to be humbled by taking into consideration the fact that you could be mistaken.

Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).
-who exactly is it who is making the judgement of whether or not someone is following Satan or not?  i have my doubts that the average man can dinstinguish between the two.

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.
-a joke spreads laughter, this email spreads the message that people should believe potentially made up stories as if they were fact.  Which, if anything, will make the world less enlightened.  This will lead to the kind of freedom of thought that will make people believe that they are safe because an airport security guard takes away their nail clippers but allows them to carry lighters so they can smoke when they get off the plane.

Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace.
-apparently, potentially erroneous emails about Jesus pass freely through cyberspace too.  And the last time i checked, the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene was suppressed in the school and workplace as well.

Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week. (Are you laughing?)
-i am with you on that one...funny, but not "ha ha" funny.

Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.
-i was not going to reply, but i suppose you are right, and i should not worry about what others think of my beliefs.  It is more important that "I" believe they are good.
