Well well post Christmas visits are taking a toll on all my good resolutions to complete pending class work
the eternal optimist is not only a closet pessimist, but also a (not so in the closet) procrastinator
(that would be me<------for all those who are joining us late in the year)
the fact that I’ve finally gotten down to reading "east of Eden", is not helping the work load either....I can't put it down......never thought I'd refer to a steinbeck, as a "can't put down-er" (shuddup at grammar n made up words, its poetic license).......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it has dawned on me that I barely read 6 non curriculum books in the last year, which is very very sad, i had regretfully put reading away for a while, only to re discover why I love it in the past 2 days, getting thru 310 pgs of east...and realizing the joy of curling up with a book.......I pity those who do not read, who do not like it who think *books=Boring* how limited their world is, for they miss out on a whole different experience.......ok getting preachy so will stop and say bye bye....am leaving for the next best thing to Goa......the little Manori, fishing village beach, is were I'll be bringing in the new year along with best friends, and parental units, and bacardi!

The Bowling Co. Has opened up a branch in Lokhanwala, younnoh near that permanent ferris wheel which has no one on it ever....
Yeah well The bowling co. bldg also has a brew bar, as well as a dico cum lounge bar cum karaoke bar...yup.....oh yes and a bowling alley adjoining the dance floor, lit in UV light.....:)
the dance floor is lit in red light, the karaoke area in blue light and the lounge bar in orange light, with an animal print theme....

Girls enter free...(So far)
Drinks are way expensive, a coke is 80 rs!!!!!!!

Good place to visit, has deffinite potential as a HOT spot :)

Met this really cool guy there, one of the members a neo-buddhist, and we had a lovely conversation, till I had to run, which was very soon, did get a name didn't get a last name nor a number, BUMMER

Once upon a time a girl added a familiar sounding guy to her msn chat list.......
on finding out tht she didn't know tht guy the girl decided to block the unknown user
however the guy turned out to be fun so the bored girl kept him on..."just to see" she thought to herself.

Gradually the guy turned out to be more interesting and fun,than she had expected. excited by new discovery silly girl gave fun guy her number. For the next week fun guy called her every night, even though it was an out of state call. Fun guy had really good voice, and great sense of humour, silly girl let her gaurd down and let fun guy into her life.....

Soon fun guy made plans to visit silly girl in her city. Silly was reticent, but fun guy was.....FUN, so silly girl gave in and made plans with fun guy. Silly girl was all excited at the prospect of finally seeing fun guy. Fun guy had already repeatedly seen silly girl...pics, on web site, thru web cam...But silly girl had not yet laid eyes on fun guy, he'd never provided a picture nor a description, and silly girl didn't ask for fear of seeming ....silly??? shallow???
Anyway.....
As D-day approached, silly girl got all excited, she carefully laid out her clothes and her pretty shoes she even packed a small present for fun guy.
She really liked fun guy and couldn't wait to meet him......

On the night before the scheduled arrival of fun guy to silly girl's city, fun guy gave silly girl a surprise call from the airport, she was all happy and he sounded happy too, they confirmed plans and fun guy told silly girl he'd call and set the appropriate times according to his work schedule....See fun guy had told silly girl that he was going to be in her city on business and would meet her between appointments. Fun guy had also repeatedly talked about where he'd be staying when they ahd discussed potential meeting places, fun guy being new to the city, Silly girl had volunteered to come meet him for fear of him getting lost, see silly girl was also a sweet caring girl.... So as I was saying, silly girl knew which hotel fun guy would be in, she also knew which conference centre he had his meetings in he had mentioned it in earlier conversations and she had taken mental notes, silly girl was like that sometimes.

The big day came and silly girl woke up all happy....and waited and waited and waited for fun guy to call.....but fun guy didn't call....silly wondered but figured fun guy was swamped with work so she decided to wait another day. The next day, was day 2 of fun guy's stay in silly girl's city , but he still didn't call, silly was now worried, what had happened to fun guy??? was he lost??? hurt??? did he have amnesia???something must be wrong!!!!
The thought that he had stood her up...never occcurred to this silly girl.....
No it couldn't be!!!!!! could it????
Silly girl got all pro active.....she called an info line and took down numbers to both the hotel and the conference centre, silly girl was upset now and knew she had to find out....silly girl then called the hotel!!!!

The man who took silly girls call sensed her urgency and was very co-opperative, he told silly girl no one by that name was staying there, he also checked the confrence centre and the villa's and appartment complex the hotel owned and no one by that name or with those initials or even from that company was staying there or ahdbeen satying there or would be staying there.
Silly girl was in shock, she felt hurt and cheated....
silly girl cried quietly into her pillow for a while....then fell asleep
When silly girl woke up she was wiser, she felt better and thanked her stars she had not walked staright into the arms of a psycho.....Who knows what fun boy had planed for her@#$%%^&

Soon silly though wiser girl forgot all about fun boy.....

A few months later silly yet wiser than before girl was online again when suddenly out of the blue, up popped fun boy on her msngr list, before she could avoid him fun boy greeted silly girl, with all the former affection, then out came the expalnations and the endless apologies, about a dead friends and missed meetings and rushing back to his home town and being unable to call or write or mail.....silly yet wiser than before girl listened patiently to all of fun boy's rantings...letting him sink further into the lie....... But Fun boy was starting to sound believable, and silly yet wiser than before girl felt some old silliness creeping in, so she quickly pulled a fast one on fun boy....on a hunch silly girl told fun boy, she didn't believe a word he had said, not even the name he went by, and then silly yet wiser than before girl dropped a bigger bomb on fun boy, telling him that, she had called up his so called empolyers personnel dept and found out he didn't exist there.....Fun boy went offline..........................................................

Silly girl now wiser than ever girl........smiled in triumph
picked up her cellphone and called her new sweet thing of the month........

Ashdin's birthday was followed by Dinesh's birthday which was at Velocity, where we danced till they shut us out. Not satiated we went over to marine plaza at like 2am....
Diwali was great,
pre diwali gift shopping lunch at noorani's, an extra long ac bus ride, alpha, and sampling street ware....ahhhhhh the life.....
Diwali day, eating mithai till I dropped exchanging presents.......:)
Lovely Lunch at Kal's followed by a supposed "all night card party", in bandra, which we left shortly after we started loosing all our winnings, headed to Mocha, where we met up with Dinesh, Akshay, Binish and Amit (who we were introduced to at Velocity)
I was in a bad secondary (apricot flavored hookha) smoke induced mood....to eat or drink anything, but Cheered up immensely when we drove off to Bandstand Promenade to light a few non pollutant(except for snake, which i couldn't resist) crackers...
IT was soooooooooo much fun,
and our rockets, lit expertly by dinesh and akshay went off so beautifully......:)aaaaaaaaaaa
what a fun way to burn money :)
The all night card party, ended faster than expected, we were picked up from the promenade and driven home amidst a brilliant display of fireworks.....off to kal's for blissfull sleep.

I saw Sam Rockwell play Chuck Barris is Confessions Of a dangerous mind.....quite enjoyed it. He deffinitely deserves a nomination....which he might just get.
The movie was stylized and fun but also quite twisted, and I could have done with out seeing rockwell's butt about a dozen times....there something not quite right about a bare ass'ed man....standing in front of a television set....but there was nachos and salsa and blueberry cheese cake to make up for butt scenes

OMG you guys will never believe what happened today.......... After class I walked to my bus stop.....I got on a bus that was very crowded and thought I'd never get a seat, i stood balancing my bag and umbrella, bought my ticket and thanked the conductor who smiled and then proceeded to clear the asile before me then led me to the seats which are reserved for ladies, made this young boy get up and said here sit down.......leaving everyone including me shocked, when I sat down the woman next to me said "you're really lucky to get such treatment"
I am still getting over this unusual display of good service in our public transport....................

Started of interesting lapsed into utterly *snore* boring........then picked up again........and then went on to get just better and better
joined Deepika for a snicker shake at Mocha.......together we got some really productive work done on my structured excercise......then accepted Deepika's invite to go over to her place where we had some great hot chocolate and excellent conversation.....i'm glad I did...... she's a lovely woman, very pretty very smart....very mature..........

Pyra Labs, Blogger's Parent co. was recently purchased by Google.....who made changes to the template of the web logs, Blogger dutifully informed all their users to make the appropriate changes in their main templates.....however ignoramus users,par example ---------> MOI, who don't know HTML nor can understand anything that remotely reeks of geeky jargon, just didn't get what they said..........:s so had to contact friends/angels who as usual came to my rescue and now heres the page all up and ready to be read........:)

I've been cribbing about lack of time..........and the grind's not even begun yet !!!!!!!!!! But there's so many people I want to spend time with, family to visit, friends to hang out with and men to date :) besides spending time at home with mum and demi........:) and making sure I'm online with papa everynight...........aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh
Well got a lucky break this week with Friday being a holiday, took advantage of the extra holiday to make some much over due visits, Noticed a freaky phenomenon everywhere I went I was FED FED FED...... First Visited My daadi and my cousins, the moment I entered the house, I was first examened from head to toe, comments were passed on every item of clothing and every accessory, while the maid quickly rolled out hot hot methi parathas with aam ka achar and srikhand just as my 3 hungry cousins strolled in, soaking wet from school, After the food was gobbled, and family matters discussed, I made a hasty exit, got home and went to Bobe's place, who immediately handed me a huge slice of chocolate cake that he had baked, had to eat it I mean Its CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!!! and then couldn't turn down an even larger second slice, tummy doing the abyss thing again....OH GAWD I'll never loose the holiday excesss baggage ....and wait...it gets worse, when I got home, mom was offended i turned down her offer of khichidi and fried chicken, so to avoid any confrotation about where my hunger had disappeared I left at around 3 ish to spend some time with my God-daughter Meagen in Bandra, on my arrival there....My aunt mary ann enquired as to whether I had eaten any lunch, she then proceeded to heat up Rajma chawal, which was soo yummy.......later we went for a walk to Bandstand, and it was just lovely, the sea was quite rough and the crashing waves sent a cool spray of water over all those present there, coz of meagen we got to sit in the tiny tots enclosure....which is a well kept green lawn, with springy grass, mini coconut trees, only kids and their accomanying adults are allowed, so it was just us and the watchman......and the sea...........aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh lovely..........all that salt sea air made us hungy and we headed to Candies. for some more....yes you guessed right FOOD, macaroni and cheese salad, butter chicken. paneer kathi roll, noodles....:)
ate and watched the amazing race.....then off to sleep :)
I think I'm living to eat.....rather than eating to live..............

Yesterday was marathon card playing evening..............which is incomplete without snacking..........so out came all the junk food in the house........which in Kuwait is a lot of junk food, Three different kinds of chips, Roasted nuts, Smoked Cheese, juice, chocolate milk.........followed by post card playing junk dinner.......parents provided huge French bread, and we had fried sausages, and steak...........:) OMG the abyss is fully functional............which brings me to the matter of my life in Kuwait revolving around food. In fact life in general, here, revolves around eating, being an Islamic country entertainment is frowned upon, but due to the American influence there is some sort of entertainment infrastructure laid out.......but not in the club/pub/disc sense.........more in the theme park, mall et al.... sense......all activities have been clubbed with food..... Go to the movies, and the snack counter has more than the usual snack fare, popcorn of hazzar varieties, nachos with your choice of sauce, boiled corn with butter, pastries, hot dogs, and goodness knows what else........I never associated Bowling with eating........however as we sat down at our lane terminal....a waiter strolled up asking if we'd like anything to go with our session.......!!!!!!!!!!
At the Health club where people are supposed to be NOT eating.........the hip thing is apples, juice and coffee (and ciggies, which are quite contrary to my ideas of health)...........even at the gym I see food.........Lisa confirms my thoughts on the subject, here’s what she has to say, "In Kuwait, all we do is eat, you're happy- you eat, you're sad -you eat, you go out- you eat, you stay home- you eat, you shop -you eat, you skate- you eat, you eat and you eat and you eat, you bloat up to 4 sizes bigger and you're still eating"
ah...........such eloquence need I say more??????????
BTW Dinner with Uncle from Canada tonight :S lol!!!!

Got my results this morning, were surprisingly better than expected...so YAY!!!!!!
Mum's not happy (but she never is...), Dad said first class???? I said aha, he said YAY!!!, so now mum's pissed with both of us lol...
To celebrate...(not really)
We went off to Souk Salmiya, shopped a bit and then went Bowling with dad's friend HAM....it was a great place the COSMO Center, all the shoes Fit right... alley lanes lit up when it was your turn to bowl.....you could alter the comp to fit in with your specific handicap, me not being a pro had only handicaps hehehehehehe
Very High tech and very very cool, have pics will show :) Mum won with a 102 points...I was a close second with 101, Ham got 99, and papa, who BTW is hopeless at bowling managed a 76 :)
Thereafter was a big discussion on where to go to dinner......Dad wanted to go to buffaloes...nice lively informal, Mum wanted Rumours, coz of the multi-cuisine but Ham specified he wanted a light dinner....so we headed to Prego's for Italian food, not that Lasagna is light but...well NO ONE LISTENS TO ME!!!!!!
Dinner was really nice...though me being a pucca Indian Had to request for some hot sauce as I found the food a tad bland......no one had space for dessert...though we made big plans for Star Bucks or Baskin Robbins, which is quite good in Kuwait.......but alas the fear of not getting parking drove us all home:)
But the night is still young and my parents have turned into creatures of the night,
refusing to retire to bed...have gathered a few friends and are busy playing carom. AT ONE AM!!!!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its days like this that keep the blog going :)

and dinners loads of dinners.............saussage stuffed crust pizza......smiley fries......grilled chickens........t-bone steaks.......lebanese cherries.......and deserts to die for......

Have made friends at the club..........Mayada, Roula and Jasmin...................we workout together, sigh together, giggle in the jacuzzi together and basically enjoy ourselves.I like the club but I can't help feeling a tad out of place being the only brown face besides the maids.........hehehe.........ok so I'm not that brown, but still...........
Have not encountered Racism yet............but I dunno what I'd do if I did, I really wouldn't know how to handle it effectively................
Its hard enough having people say to me, "why don't you find a nice catholic boy". Have grown up in a mixed up world, where creed, caste, color and for that matter even gender were not the basis of distinction............never saw myself as less than.....or greater than.....perhaps money was the only basis of inequality I percieved.........
As I was saying to someone today........this is why i love the night, an equaliser, unlike the sun shine that exposes all our differences, night covers us all in darkness....... its hard to tell brown from black in the dark...........

First Day At Al Mabrouk health Club, WOW Its Just WOW..............I love it!!!!! I love it!!!!!!! I haven't seen gym equipment like this ever!!!
I signed in at 9:30 and left at 12:30!!!!! 3 hours of working my ass off.............or should I say working all the pizza/chocolate milk/ice cream/ Dorritos/ goodness knows what else into my tummy which has suddenly decided to turn its self into a bottomless pit....garbage dump or similar abyss like structure....................

NOTE TO SELF : am not as fat as I thought I was, but I will be if tummy is not brought under controll

The weekend in kuwait is thursday friday, not sat-sun like the rest of the world. This however is a long weekend...Saturday being a Public holiday. The weekends are filled with buzzing activity, loads of rowdy boys spill out onto the streets at the waterfronts and in the malls, a whole lot of chaos and too many accidents. Which is why nature often takes matters in her own hands and has an uncanny way of sending sandstorms in, only on weekends, mostly they lift within a day.....but contrary to expectations, as I went out this morning, it was a repeat of the previous day, sand sand everywhere, Dad's car which was washed clean and shiny yesterday, was back to its sand covered state...and everyone arround is cussing about the long weekend ruined by the weather conditions. Dad who could do without a bunch of boy's following daughter dearest seems to be the only one happy to be indoors :)

NOTE TO SELF: Never leave swimsuit at home

A day ago, after our walk at the water front, we went to finish the formalities at the Health Club....when we got out of there I was stunned the quiet breeze that had been blowing at the waterfront had whipped itself up into a full blown Sandstorm. Sand swirrled in thick clouds and covered everything. When I got out in morning the sandy swirls had lessened but the air hung thick with sand, though visibility had improved......and Dad's shiny car!!! it was covered with a blanket of sand an inch thick, as I opened the passenger door, i got sand all over my trousers.....T'was pretty cool :)

"Now please smile be polite and don't be a snob" she instructed taking one last look in the rear view mirror before she slammed the door shut............I followed my mood already ruined, trying rather unsuccessfully to tune out her voice as she continued instructing me on how to behave..........The place was lovely built like a mansion.....very tastefully done up, I couldn't help cheering up, was in total awe of all the splendour when we got to our destination........She came up to us....exchanged pleasanteries....my parents chatted away.......I said a required word or two.....observing mostly.........we left quickly........but I'd already reached my verdict I LOVED HER!!!!!!

Hi all............from the State Of Kuwait............Well So far I've been having a great time..............Kuwait is lovely the weather is hot but we don't really feel it and all the flowers are out its pretty pretty pretty all over with splashes of color accross the green lawns..........and ahhhhhhhhhh the water front is just Gorgeous........when I walk there or just sit and watch the sun set despite all all of the chaos in the world I'm reminded of this line from Dicken's-----------> "God's in His heaven and all's right with the world"
perhaps just for that moment in time in that space...........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh look at me getting all soppy an all...........

Sunday and more fun followed................big family luncheon, what with 8 women 2 dad's 4 kids 2 maids...........hehehheheehhe
I don't know why so many people hate to hang out with family................I love hanging out with this bunch of my family........we can really crack eachother up.........post lunch after cake and ice cream........and after eachone had poured over the party albumn AGAIN!!!...........commenting on very aspect of my appearance.........began the chat session with gossip inputs comming in from all over.........and be being called upon for relationship advice repeatedly..........ah I love my family..............(sometimes)
tea and then off for shopping..........clothes shoes scarfs..........Mc Donalds..........ice cream...........finally home for much needed sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep...............

And the fun continues....................had a wonderful time with my girls............wine ing and dine ing..............and shopping and watching my VCD..........I have now seen that thing 4 times!!!

OMG had the most fun at Nissie's place...............a bunch of us had gathered to watch The VCD and just chill and hangout............and I laughed soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much my side hurt....and after a few others had left the rest of us all piled into Nis' car and headed for Bandra
lol after quite a wild ride and I mean WILD!!! we ended up at JATC........where more madness followed.......thereafter to Shruti's lovely apartment.......for some r n r then another wild ride home................:)

I'm back in mumbai...........had to cut my trip short..thanx to air India's cancellation of 37 flights.........WHY AM I FLYING AIR INDIA????????? ah yes coz I'm booked on their flight to kuwait............coz of my parents stupid 4 sector prepaid ticket booked in $ waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (not even half a cute male flight attendant)
N E way...........B'lore was pleasantly relaxing.............did a spot of shopping, a lot of sleeping and eating and being fussed over by little Meagen and nani.......
Was driven arround by the ever polite Prakash (our chauffer)......who my aunt says is half is in love with "choti madam"......Which I believe is a load of BS!!!
the weather was ok........not as cool as it used to be..........but the city is as pretty as ever.......and the wayside cafe outlet Barrista has opened at Barton Center is positively divine. It rained last night and that was fun...........took meagen out on the little porch to watch the lightning as it lit up the sky......
Flight home was fun as it was operated by Indian Airlines crew and craft.........Indian airlines is like apna airline........so free upgrade and 5star treatment YAY!!!
besides cute and oh so deliciously dark banglorean boy........obviously first time in first class kept smiling and was generally overwhelmed by all the service lol

More baby sitting.........I think I'm getting good at it.........poured milk for two of them.....made coffee for one of them............and then washed up after them.........and did it of my own free will........:) then went out shopping with them and treated myself to this little flouncy top that I'd seen a month back and adored but thought the price was exhorbidant......got it today for a 175rs less than the original price YAY!!!!!! thats what I call a bargain..........:)

Spent the greater part of the morning and all of the afternoon with my three biggest fans.........:) there's nothing like three males fighting each other for my undivided attention....hehehehe yes I'm refering to my three little cousins who I adore....:).....Have enjoyed myself thoroughly........gonna go do some more baby sitting now....later y'all....

From the dizzy heights of delight to the depths of dissatisfaction, this would describe the last 48 hours for me………Had a great time at Kal’s parents 25th wedding anniversary…really rocking party……..danced continuously from 9pm to 1am…..had heaps and heaps of fun……and equal amounts of vodka….: ) We girls really heated up the dance floor…inspired by the T.A.T.U song ;) especially divie who dances really well but will never dance…except on rare occasion like last night YAY!!….and then there was the loo…….which was a unisex loo…..right next to our party venue was a pub which shared the loo with us..…picture this half drunk pub goers and enthu party crowd...men and women, boys and girls aunties and uncles and one loo!!!!
….ah yes.... we had quite a bit of fun in there what with men and women queuing up to have a go….and all the preening and pruning at the common wash basin and mirrors…..hehehehe yup very very ally mcbeal saw a lot, and laughed my head off....Now for the down in the dumps part……..I dunno how to explain it….just this general feeling of dissatisfaction, which has been bubbling under the surface and now has surfaced…eeeeekkk And yes……went to the Orchid to source a venue for my upcoming party….guess what....the great economical option Prodigal has been raving about…ya well its already been booked, just my luck huh…….: (
and meeting Prodigal alone again wasn't a treat at all........

We had such a kool time at the movie last night...........the theatre was really empty, so we sat where we felt like........and had the most fun ever..........this was almost as much fun as when we watched "Dude where's my car"

Its been an interesting last few days........have sunk into the depths of sloth(ishness) is there such a word as slothishness??
--A very close friend had an accident
--Another very close friend came over after a really long time
--Had a nice n friendly heart to heart with prodigal.......till we realised it was midnight.....and then we were all uncomfy about the fact that we had stayed up chatting for that long we're afterall supposed to be denying the fact that we do get along, and quiet well, if I should say so myself.....much to the horror of our respective self righteous sides...there still exists a certain chemistry...potent???...yes...wrong???...perhaps...will I quit???...NOT!!!! I think u guys knew that was coming
